‘She’s Borderline’ comes from the minds of Lyon-based indie band Glossy Clouds. It’s an intense track that opens with sinister strings and vocals, before twisting into a verse characterised by driving rhythms in the guitar and insistent bass drum pounding. They don’t skimp on hooks, though, with the gritty-yet-eloquant chorus staying with you for a long time after listening. Glossy Clouds explain that they “wanted this track to be powerful, with increasing intensity, and inhabited by a kind of heaviness and strange madness. The female vocals and the omnipresent beat come together to make a hypnotic but danceable sound.
